Players sit on the top of the box, reach down and strike the front surface to produce a variety of authentic Afro-Cuban and flamenco tones. <BR><BR>When the ash wood front plate is played in the center a round, open, warm tone is emitted. Strike toward the edges and pitches rise to a high, clear sound. A vented hole on the back plate allows air to escape to support the various tonalities. <BR><BR>Tension screws allow you to adjust the front plate for diverse slap sounds.
