The Fostex X-12 4-Track Cassette Recorder has inherited the most attractive features of the X-14: simple 4-track recording and simple operation with the quick and easy record track-select button, 5-segment LED input level meter, individual playback level and pan controls, stereo line out, and headphone out with level. The transport has been improved in reliability over the X-14 with a larger flywheel.
