Although not a guitarist himself, McCarty was responsible for several innovations that would change the course of guitar playing forever. This stud bridge/tailpiece gave the player much more control over intonation and improved tone and sustain.The soapbar P-90s on this Gibson Custom Shop '54 Les Paul generate the crisp yet warm tones that only genuine P-90s can. The maple top with wrap stopbar adds bright resonance and clarity while mahogany back and long-tenon neck warm things up. Bound rosewood fretboard with pearl trapezoid inlays and pearl logo inlay add a little visual elegance to the already-stunning finish.
