Select maple wood is cut in plies, positioned with staggered diagonal seams, and sealed together with evenly distributed air pressure. This process ensures that every drum shell is in round and of uniform thickness. It also provides superior tone quality and durability. <BR><BR><strong>Lugs</strong> <BR><BR>The revolutionary design of the quick-release, minimal-contact lug casings found on the Absolute Nouveau series are fixed to the drum shell by snapping onto a post that is anchored at the nodal point. This allows the drum to vibrate freely. They allow the heads to be changed in less time and reduce the risk of losing tension rods or washers. A special nylon insert prevents tension rods from becoming loose during play. <BR><BR><strong>Aluminum Die-Cast Hoops </strong><BR><BR>The aluminum die-cast hoops offer the benefit of accurate tuning at a much lighter weight than zinc die-cast hoops that choke the drum. They allow the drum to open up much like a triple-flanged hoop. <BR><BR>
