One Bass Note & Three Strums

In the previous exercise you strummed a chord on every beat in the song. Now we will substitute the root bass note at the count of 1 in each measure. This
will help define where each measure begins. Notice that instead of strumming all of the strings, the strum is now only on the first 3 strings. Basically what we
are doing is separating the music into two parts, using the 4th, 5th, and 6th strings as appropriate to play the bass notes and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd strings for strumming. |
