A new tune I am working on with the Mandolin & Fiddle. Sort of a Modern Irish folk style.  If you would like to hear a very rough preview here is the orginal take http://ezfolk.com/audio/play.php?mode=song_hifi&band_id=804&song_id=12593
....so just to forewarn you that some parts may not sound so pretty ;}  but overall I think might have some potential when its done!!

2/17 I replaced this recording with a less PAINFUL version:fiddle2:!! got some new software I am using that still need to learn how to adjust settings better. Anyway hope what you like what you hear so far. appreciate your feed back.

Greetings Holly,

Lovely!  I'd more put this composition into an "Ambient" category rather than Irish Folk to be honest.  Sounds like something that should be on "Echoes".  Once the final mix is complete you should send a copy off to John Diliberto.  The process by which you do this can be found here: http://www.echoes.org/ie.submiss.html

Good luck, a brilliant composition that.

All the best!

Peace,
Ed

Holley -
I like this piece. I see how it could be an Irish tune, but it's Irish/ambient (I agree with Ed). It has such an earthy sound, but also the title 'snowfall' fits it. Earthy and airy at the same time?? :)

This is the type of tune I think I'd hear on a Windom HIll recording. and of course, I LOVE Windom Hill recordings.

Nice job!!

Amy

Hi Amy & Ed ,

Thank you  both for your very kind words:). I never thought of ambient but after listening to some in the category I now agree. I liked the echo effect for this one too.

is it just me or  does this new software I been experimenting with  seems to come off  a bit too distorted sounding??... not sure if its my cheap computer speakers on this computer or a bad recording?? hopefully I can true quality recording with a much clearer and better sound. I tried recording on low level and also setting it on the auto.  I was experimenting from Roxio suite 10 sound editor. has anyone tused this software? I think I will resort back to the old software & computer and compare. :)

I will check out the John Diliberto link sounds interesting!

thanks again!

Holley

2/23 I uploaded a replacement  version less distorted on the link above. Though I think I will redo without effects to see if better.
