i just bought one of these off ebay.i am a beginner player.will this be ok for me?are these any good,or will i have to upgrade pretty quickly?

G'day;

The New York Pro is a not bad starter, and yep, you will want to upgrade pretty soon. Say, in a year or so.  You got it at a pretty reasonable price. 

You may have to work at setting up the bridge to get the proper intonation and action.   Google mandolin set up for more info.  

There's a ton of info out there concerning the care and feeding of mandolins, so good luck.   Not to diss this site, but check out Mandolin Cafe, and use the search engine they have there, as basic questions have been asked and answered many times, and some folks get a bit testy about same ol same ol............Too bad eh.........:D   But, most of the pickers are more than helpful to a newbie.
