Hi,

I am a ukulele player but was considering tinkering with the mandolin.  Had anyone had any experience with the Rogue mandolin?  Their ukes are terrible, but the price is definitely right for the mandolin, if it is playable.

Thanks

After seeing a friend of mine play a Rogue mandolin at the local jam, I ordered one for myself.  I ordered the solid black version of the Rogue RM-100 "A" style mandolin, which was discounted to the unbelieveable price of $40.  Sure, it's a laminated wood instrument, but it looks nice, and it plays and sounds pretty decent; certainly good enough for a starter instrument.

I also ordered the Musicians' Friend hard case for the mandolin for $40.00

Hi Will,

Thanks for the input.  I have trying to make up my mind between it and a Johnson F-model Savannah that is going for about $110 plus $20 for shipping, case included.  I don't want to invest much as I have never played a mandolin before.
