Greetings,

In conjunction with the fine folks of Cafe Verde in Phillipsburg I'm hosting a musician showcase twice a month on the second and fourth Thursday evenings.  It runs from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and features local as well as traveling singer/songwriters and their original material as well as local and traveling folk musicians with traditional repertoires.  There is only one artist featured each showcase.  The owners of Cafe Verde are great supporters of the local visual artist community and feature and offer for sale their works in the cafe and take no commission from the artist to do so.  They're extending this support to the musician's community.

If you are a singer /songwriter with two sets of original material or a folk musician with two sets of public domain/traditional material and wish to be considered for a showcase please respond to this ad or contact me through my website.  Please have available samples of your work either on the Internet or on a CD that you can send along.  My mailing address can be found on my website as well. Please do not email audio files with your response as these will simply be deleted.

Cafe Verde features brilliant food and I'm sure Chef Armando will come up with a few special dishes for the occasion.  The room is very intimate and a PA, microphones (Shure SM58's and Beta58's), and stands will be provided.  At most a duo can be accommodated.  Compensation will be from “passing the hat” and CD sales if indeed you have a CD.  I am not being compensated for organizing and promoting these showcases.

To learn more about Cafe Verde visit here.

All the best!

Peace,
Ed

Hi, Ed,

This sounds like a great and fun thing you're doing.  I wish you the best of success with it.  If I ever have occasion to visit the area, I will definitely try to drop in!

Peace,

Any reasonably-priced accomodations in the area?  Sounds like fun.

Hey Tony,

Thanks for the well wishes and it'd be lovely to have you drop in anytime.  See the offer to Gary below.  The same goes out to you my friend.

Hey Gary,

Yea, there's a reasonable place to stay, downright cheap I'd say.  It'd only cost you a tune or two in our living room and of course you'd have to join us for some of my bride's brilliant cooking.  It seems the showcase may be booked through January already but maybe you'd like to take the trip when the weather is more conducive for traveling.  Let me know as I would be honored to have you perform in our little hamlet.

All the best to ye both!

Peace,
Ed

Hey Séamus,

'Tis good to see the green, white, and gold!

Aye, I'd bet Chef Armando would indeed put up a pot of stew for ye Séamus.  You'd have to watch the jalapeño peppers :2devilfire: though!

I may be traveling to the Orlando area the second week of December.  Will ye be around and if so how long of a drive would it be to raise a jar or two with me old friend?  I won't be bringing my machines though as I would be flying and there's no way I'd trust the airlines with the yokes.

All the best!

Peace,
Ed

Next time I'm headed out east, Ed!! Was bummed that it didn't work out last summer, but I'm sure I'll be headed out that way again (at least I'm hopin').

Good luck with it! Sounds great.

It'd be great to have you Amy.  By the way we may be stopping in the Chicago area in the Spring whilst on our way to see my daughter in Denver.  I'll let you know if that comes about.

All the best!

Peace,
Ed

Thanks to Ed, I'll be heading that way in April. I must say that I am excited to "go on tour." I'm looking forward to it.

We had a brilliant inaugural showcase with the lovely Princeton, NJ based singer/songwriter Sarah Donner.  There was a good crowd and plenty of local press and radio coverage.

Here's the schedule going forward thus far:

http://www.edsaultz.com/cvsched.html

As you can see from April 22, 2010 forward the schedule is open.  If you'd like to join in the fun contact me and we'll work out a date.

All the best!

Peace,
Ed

I've added a video sample of Sarah Donner's November 12th performance.  You can view it here.

All the best!

Peace,
Ed
