I have tried, without much luck, to put together a band to play and record the new music I have been writing. I work for two counseling agencies plus have a small private practice going, so it is hard to find practice time if I could find the right musicians. I have finally decided that enough is enough, so I dusted off my old MIDI sequencer and sound modules and am programming the drums, bass, and keyboard parts. This allows me to play guitar and sing along with the backing parts both for recording and live performance. I also bought a guitar effects pedal that is adding some nice sounds to the music.

I have posted the first four songs on my website, http://www.GBandF.com; I will probably add them here shortly. I am pretty excited about the way they are coming out, especially Train of Life. This continues my exploration of garage rock music. I will probably do some gigs with an acoustic opening set and an electric second set.

I hope you enjoy the music; your comments are welcome.

Gary

Gary-

Nice stuff! A bit too electronic for my personal taste ;), but as usual, it's well up to your standards.

Thanks, Brad. Coming from you, it is greatly appreciated. I'm not totally sure where this musical turn came from, as I've always been an acoustic musician. I just know that this is a lot of fun and it is making me stretch my boundaries and comfort level as a musician.

What I find the most interesting is knowing where the song began as I wrote it on acoustic guitar and seeing where it ends up after I am done with the arranging. Train of Life started with a different chord pattern as a sort-of country song, was kinda reggae on acoustic guitar, and ended up sounding a bit Santana-ish when I got done with the instrumentation.

Thanks again for your kind words.
