After a loooooooong break, I am returning to the perfomance arena. I have two nights booked at a new place in the area, the Sturbrige Coffee House, right up the road from Old Sturbride Village in Massachusetts. For the first gig on April 5th, I am doing original songs, some covers by Grateful Dead, Beatles, Donovan and other 60's icons, some old-time traditional, and good-time tunes from the 20's and 30's. I'll see what flies and what doesn't before I plan the set list for the June 7th gig.

I intend to use my plugged-in Fender Telecoustic guitar, but I am also going to play the banjo and ukulele, so Banjo Brad will not be totally disgusted with me. ;)  I will not be wearing the bowler, though. (I probably will wear my read high-top tennis shoes with the skulls on them.)

It feels good to find a place that will not only allow me to perform but is actually going to pay me. As the Godfather of Soul once said, I feel good!!

Great going Gary,    Wish I could be there, but to far from Texas

I did buy one of the CD's you had out a few years ago with you and Carol playing and singing and I listen often to it.

Charlie

Thanks for the kind words, Charlie.

I really did not expect to be playing the banjo any time soon. The person at the coffee shop noticed the banjo listed on my Journey of Life CD and got excited. So now I have to get myself back into banjo playing. Good that I have a few weeks to work on it.
