So, I just called my credit card company to dispute all charges to my credit card by Harmony Online. On June 3, I tried to order the $42 Amigo solid spruce top baritone uke they had on sale and which has been mentioned a lot in these forums. It hasn't arrived, and it hasn't shipped, but they did charge it to my credit card -- twice. I've e-mailed three times, but there's no response. They don't ever pick up the phone if you call the 1-800 number. And if you call the local number, sometimes they do pick up. In fact, I've talked twice "Mary Ann," who both times acted concerned, then took my number and said she'll call back in 15 minutes, and then hasn't returned my call. I've also left numerous messages on their answering machine, which haven't been returned.

They are not a music store -- their instruments ship out of a warehouse in Missouri. Also, even though they say they're available on the weekends from 9-5, their phones go directly to voice mail.

So, the bargain has bit me in the butt. Luckily, my credit card company will step in to resolve it. But you guys should save yourselves the hassle and not order stuff from there.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with that mail order company.  I ordered my Amigo baritone uke in 2003 from Apollo's Axes, a real music store in Kansas, with live people answering the phone.  I spoke to them before I made my purchase via phone order.  They still carry the Amigo baritone for the price that I paid 5 years ago, $59.00.

Thanks for the tip will -- I definitely want to re-order it from somebody I can trust. The new Aquila strings for it arrived nearly a week ago, and I can't wait to put them on something!
