Greetings,

I read the news this morning of Utah Phillips' passing.  A sad day.  Rest in Peace Utah, thank you for all the great music and stories.

Peace,
Ed

OMG!  Ed, this is the first I heard!  So sad!

Utah Phillips was a major voice in the soundtrack of my life.  I have had occasion to see and hear this man of the people perform on numerous occasions.  His warm voice, gentle, (though pointed,) humour, and unwavering integrity will be sorely missed.  The world s a poorer place.  If there are any scabs in heaven, they'd better watch out!

Moose turd pie, anyone?

Peace,

I got the news yesterday about Utah Phillips. So sad, but he's been ill for quite a long time. There was to be a benefit for him this next month in Chicago to help cover his medical expenses. I guess now it'll be a memorial concert.

Like Tony, I grew up listening to the man and learning from his humor and dedication to the people. I had the chance to work with him once, and talk with him a bit. thought I'd be able to do so again in the future. Now I just have to cherish the memory.

RIP Utah. We will surely miss you!

Peace -
Amy DK

I too will miss him.  Great person, performer and a delight to hear.

Thank you, Ed,

I wish I could have been there.  Now I feel like I was.

These are images to cherish.

Peace,

Tony you are welcome indeed.  I never met the man but can say that his music and story telling have been of great influence on me.  So much so that I once used a line from one of his stories in traffic court; "Your honor I plead anarchy" I responded to the judges enquiry as to my pleading for a capricious parking ticket.  Being a Paddy, the judge dismissed the ticket after I reminded him of the concept of "Fair Play" however that was only after threatening me with a contempt of court citation.

Peace,
Ed
