Congrats, Brad!

And another Farmer's Market that actually pays? Terrific! I've played at several like that now (in fact, between Snake Suspenderz and the Emerald City Jug Band I've played the one in Olympia a number of times).

I spent most of yesterday putting some practice into the songlist and attempting to arrange it in some kind of logical order (I didn't want to retune between every song, or do all the G tuning songs, then all the C tuning, etc.). Then I drew up a checklist so I wouldn't forget anything when I packed this morning.

Now see, that shows a pro attitude whether you get paid or not.

I do hope at least some folk dropped lucre into your hat!

Go get 'em!

Nary a cent! But, the hat was on my head and the tip container was rather small and not really obvious (despite the buck 'n a quarter I seeded it with). I didn't really expect to get much more than experience this time. I did have a couple of interesting conversations with people, one guy asked if my banjo was tuned like a ukelele (?!). There was also a nice conversation with the mother of two little boys who were busy chasing birds around the area. She likes banjo music, and they had come over to where I was playing to have their snack (great bakery goods available here!) to listen. I'll try to post that conversation from the tape.

I'm already looking forward to the next time, trying to structure a practice routine so I know I will have improved by then :P

:2banjo: Keep on pickin'
Brad

I have just added the Album Live at the Farmers' Market http://ezfolk.com/audio/bands/5/Live_at_the_Farmers_Market.php" to my music page. This album is what happened on 22 October 2005 when I performed live for the first time.
It was recorded on a Memorex cassette recorder via a lapel microphone. The quality, therefore, lacks a lot, both in the audio and in the performance!

I also added a radio station:
http://ezfolk.com/audio/play.php?mode=radio&id=275
that has just the album in it, so it might be easier to listen to everything in order (I hope!).
Go ahead, take your best shots! But, remember, you, too, had a first time! :P

Hi Brad. Just got the time to listen to your farmers' market radio station. Great stuff, you make that ol' banjo ring. Keep on pickin'. I hope you don't mind if I put a few of them on radio ocrastra. Take it easy, Gerry.

I’m listening to your performance.

It sounds great! The Orovalley market goers are very lucky people!

I like the recording, the background noises, tuning, conversations, it all adds ‘soul’ to it.

Many congratulations again and thanks for sharing the recording!

Yeah, Yeah, Im really late again.. but hey!

Brad, you rock! you handled your nerves much better than i did, ha i had to let go of the banjo completely at one point to recompose myself while my mate covered for me with guitar!

record them all Brad, i really enjoyed listening to it, and was well pleased that you left in the banter and busy market sounds. Its atmosphere dude!

Nice one man.
