Hi Everyone, I just ordered my first banjo - an open back. I'm retired now, but took up the sax two years ago after 35 years away from music and am now playing in a community military band. I played violin as a kid and flute as a young adult. Like most college kids I diddled with the guitar, but never properly learned it. I love the sax, but also love bluegrass and folk music. I'm hoping the banjo will cure the itch. I'm also wondering if anyone has found a good way to combine sax and fiddle music (besides Bill Evans). I've been playing some great Irish and Scottish folk tunes arranged for recorder with my teacher and another student on the sax. -- Al

Hey Al, Welcome to ezFolk. Junior Davey on his Sound Skin CD (I believe) has a track of a sax playing a great jig with Junior on bodhran. There's a host of dance tunes (jigs, reels, polkas, hornpipes...) listed on thesession.org. They're mostly in ABC format but can be converted to dots at concertina.net. All the best! Peace, Ed
