Hello,

I stumbled upon this site quite by chance and jolly glad I did.

After a lifetime of listening and enjoying folk music I finally decided to get off my fat backside and actually learn to play an instrument. When my father died he left me a few pounds (I'm English by the way) I decided that I would use the money to buy things that I wanted rather than needed. No new car, no expensive holiday. Instead I bought some chickens and a BANJO!!!

Whilst still very much a beginner I get such a kick out of that wonderful sound. I've learned to play a few songs and love every minute. The only downer is that I didn't do it years ago.

Still, there are lots of tunes out there. It's a whole new world.

Good luck and may your God go with you.

Big Pete

Greetings Big Pete and welcome to the fray,

Chickens AND a banjo, sounds like you should find yourself over this side of the pond settin' on the porch of a little shack atop one of the peaks in Appalachia (assuming of course that yoke has an extra string). Great choices by the way!

All the best!

Peace,
Ed
