Hi everyone, my name is Sandaidh. I am from Scotland and play  mandolin, fiddle, tenor banjo, mandola, whistle, I think, at intermediate level. I like playing Scottish / Irish / English, reels, jigs , hornpipes. I would like to learn more English tunes, Northumberland and Lancastrian areas. I don't read music, and play by ear. I find using an abc converter a most useful tool to learn by. I am looking forward to chatting to you all at some stage, and hope to share some useful tips. All the best, Sandaidh  (pronounced......... sanday).

You're welcome indeed Sandaidh and thank you as well.  Where are you in Scotland?

Reading your introduction got me to thinking of a friend in Oban that I haven't been in contact with for perhaps three or four years.  I sent her an email straight away.  Funny that, she's a friend from the antiques business and I haven't been active in that since she and I last were in contact.

Will we hear some of your stuff?  I've been playing a bit lately with some folks that have the music of Cape Breton.  Brilliant stuff that and when the one fiddler gets to stomping her foot whilst giving a reel, jaysus man all that's troubling goes away.  Better than whiskey, ummm, well maybe not, but very close.  I've been on the verge of temperance a few times, much to the publican's dismay.

All the best!

Peace,
Ed

I am a few miles south of Edinburgh. We have a healthy pub session circuit here with all genre of music, something for everybody really. I will post something of my music later, this weekend I am off the the scottish borders where a music fest is being held. It is in a lovely place called Newcastleton near Hawick. Lots of fiddles, mando's etc. and tents and of course, ............................pubs, no temperance here you know!!!!!                                   :):fiddle1:
