Hey ya'll!

My name's Don de Leaumont and I'm a folksinger/songwriter out of Durham, NC.  I also sing and play guitar for a rootsy rock band called Mystery Road.  I'm so glad I found this forum.  I'm really feeling my folk roots pulling stronger than ever so I've been inspired to really buckle down and teach myself harmonica.  Tried cross harp and it's impossible but I'm having better luck w/ straight harp but I just need to work more w/ the notes and get my technique better.   Anyways, I always find it sad when folksingers just get passed over so a forum like this just makes me happier than ya'll know so thanks for being here and taking me in!

If you're interested in checking out my stuff, here ya go:

Peace and stay folked up ya'll!

Welcome, Don.

You will find a lot of kindred folk here (pun intended)!

I'm not much into the "folk/rock" stuff, personally, but I know there are lots of folk here who are, so you'll be in good company.

Now, if you want to get down into the tradional music of your neck-o-the-woods, we would sure have more in common.

Don't take anything I say (ever!) personally, I'm old and set in my ways and like to stir the pot whenever possible :oldman:

Brad

I just joined, and they told me I had to say something.  Well since I also hail from NC I thought I'd just post a comment on yours (a leech you call me?).

Anyway, I joined because of my interest in ukulele, but I also play Bass Guitar with my brother.  We are working on putting a band together and have been singing and writing songs for a while now.

Odd that I play one of the biggest and one of the smalled stringed instruments...

Greetings Don,

Welcome to the fray.  Two dear friends of mine live in your area.  Do you know Julee Gluab (now Weems) and Mark Weems?  They're brilliant folks and great musicians.

Nice stuff you're doing there.  Get your stuff here on EzFolk as well.  Richard's a great person and the site is absolutely brilliant.

Peace,
Ed
