This is to establish my bona fides as a folkie.  I have played 5- string banjo (mostly clawhammer style) off and on since about 1964.  I dabbled with the guitar since 1962 but I have only attempted to learn the mandolin in the past 2 years.  I enjoy old-time music and bluegrass and have been lucky enough, and old enough, to have seen many of the greats.  I have recently retired and live in the northern suburbs of Chicago,  if anyone is interested in jamming.

Welcome, Tom:

This may be the first time on this forum I've greeted a fellow musician whom I've already met and jammed with in the same local Chicagoland area.  Hope to see you at a future Sunday jam or other event.

Best regards,

Will
