The Acoustic Music Jam (Chicago - northwest suburbs)
A regularly-scheduled musicians' jam - still going strong after over 20 years

Do you play an acoustic instrument (or several)?  Wish you could meet regularly and play along with other musicians? You're cordially invited to join

The Acoustic Music Jam

We are a regularly-scheduled acoustic musicians' jam, still going strong after over 20 years in the northern Chicagoland suburbs.  We provide a safe, comfortable, regular meeting place for musicians of all skill levels to jam and practice, and make new friends.

Instruments played at the jam: acoustic guitar, dobro/resonator guitar,5 string banjo, mandolin, fiddle, autoharp, bass fiddle, harmonica, tin whistle, other acoustic instruments (ukulele, tenor banjo, saxophone, octave mandolin, etc.).  All instruments are welcome (as long as they are not amplified).

Musical styles played at the jam: Bluegrass, Country & Western, Old-Timey, Blues, Rockabilly, Gospel, Folk, Folk-Rock,Acoustic Pop

Bring your instrument(s) and join us.  Musicians and singers of all skill levels (beginners, too) are welcome!  There are usually a number of separate jam sessions going on in different rooms to suit different musical styles and skill levels.

The jam is usually held twice a month, on each 2nd and 4th Friday, from 8:00 PM until about 11:00 PM (sometimes runs later). The jam is housed in the Lake County area at:

Lord of Glory Lutheran Church
607 West Belvidere Road (Route 120)
(On Illinois Route 120, West of Alleghany Road/East of Hainesville Road)
Grayslake, IL 60030

Newcomers are welcomed at an introductory jam circle set up near the entrance of the building.

WOW Will,    What a great place that is for everone to get togeather to jam,

I wish there was places like that close to where I live.   I do have a Bluegrass jam close to here, But would like to find a place that meets more regular and could play my button accordion at and also have different groups at different skill levels.  That is asking a whole lot for that to happen.

Thanks for the post.

Charlie
