I recently picked up two old cheap Erhu's in a flea market. Have always wanted to play but wasn't sure I would be able to pick it up easily, so thought I'd get a couple cheap.

Both are missing the bridges and both do not have a piece at the top of the neck for the strings to pass over. I will post some photos shortly.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good online resources for getting replacement parts, such as bridges and strings and bows etc? If not online, then any where in the NYC region would be good to know.

there are a few good places in the states however we tend to rely on Eason since Sung Wah is very willing to share his talents and time with us here and always takes the time to set up things for us to purchase he will always recommend items that he feels are the best for the price but that is up to you Http://www.eason.com.sg
Now the piece at the top is a cord that holds down the strings in place we have been discussing this the last few days here and it's name is Qain Jing.
It is simuler to the saddle or knock on guitars or many other string instruments.
the strings on a two string violin floats so to speak and has no finger board to pin the strings between frits.
It is important to know just what type of two string violin you have though an Erhu normally uses a D and an A string.
Good Luck with it

God Bless
