has anyone used an omnichord to play background chords along with practising?

I know of Audacity  to work along with also.    basically I was just wondering how many ways there are used or experimenting with,  to get a background or duet effect.

how many tricks of the trade has the group come up with so far???

Hi Den,

My fav is Adobe Auditions you can record multitracks, cut and paste. like record 4 different parts of an erhu piece but all played by you. record or play any track to use as a backing track.

its like a recording studio in your room.

check it out.

I realize that my question about tricks of the trade seem like such a simpleton question , deserving an  ? award   but   if I hadnt accidentally found    qchord    omnichord      audacity     mini-sized voice recorder.........    I couldve gone a long time not knowing about them.  that just got me thinkin there is lots of stuff more to be found out.

sonic,  you bet I will be checking out that adobe auditions prg.  soon enough !  thanks for that.

and Clyde,  thanks for the compliment  but because of the mini voice recorder thing,  I can see (hear)  just how far I have to go with overcoming the tone-deaf thing.  It helps immensely hearing my playback how much work I need to stick into nailing down the note more precise.   so strange how I cannot detect that readily while actually playing.  still has me baffled how that works.    I like the idea of tinkering with a background noise and the omnichord seems like the "saved" chords sequence can be played back on demand via a footswitch.      I have a replacement copy of pinnacle Studio 8   coming in the mail to fix my busted one.  with that I can run the camcorder thing into the computer  and studio 8    will allow  me to capture short segments of a longer running recording.

I just never had any luck with the audacity though,  not intuitive to me I guess.  and I got just the one recording  to get in,  the simplest feature,  and it sounded not good.  wasnt me this time  haha
