Sure there are many places like ebay and chineseculture.net or baymusic, but unless you know a lot about erhu's and your right there to purchase one well it is best to let a professional pick one out for you.

God Bless

And I too have had the best experience dealing with TanSungWah also !

Guys, I bought a Concert grade Erhu from Eason. I'm so excited I gotta tell you all this. Here's the erhu:

http://www.eason.com.sg/products/erhu/heh35.jsp

It sounded great! Warm, rounded, thick and sweet tone. I highly recommend this erhu to those of you who are intermediate players and above. It felt so good playing it...and it plays easily too. The resonance is very full, strong and the tone cuts through effortlessly. You dont need much effort to play this. It almost play by itself.

My fellow Shanghai Angels band member amanda bought the concert grade 'D' Dizi (bamboo flute)too from Eason. It was another winner! She also bought the Low 'A' Dizi but sadly it was too hard for Amanda to play cos her fingers are not fat enough to cover the last hole (she's rather slim)...and she had to return it...but the tone was brilliant like the higher 'D' Dizi. Wish you guys can hear both Dizis. They are of the highest quality.

I also bought the 4300 year old Erhu bridge. My my...what a huge difference it made to my 1st cheap erhu! The erhu sounded so 'open' and thicker now...no more harsh and nasal. YOu guys should buy it. You'll like it. I didnt realise how much difference a small bridge can make to an erhu.

Bought other things too...Erhu Belt Clip, Erhu Stand (wonderful light weight stand!),Dizi Case for 7 Dizis, Tuner which is small and cute..and etc.

To me,Mr Tan Sung Wah (the Eason General Manager) is an honest businessman with high integrity. He honoured and delivered the products in excellent condition as he promised. He has been most helpful indeed. This guy plays erhu very well too. :-)

He personally set up my Erhu before handing it over to me. My erhu plays perfectly well when I got it.

I'd be glad to answer any question you guys may have regarding my wonderful purchases.

Congratulations Shanghai,

glad to hear you got yourself an upper level instrument now you can truly enjoy playing more.
Yes Sung Wah is a very good person to deal with he will personally set up and play each instrument before he sends it to you and not only the expensive ones but any of his instruments that he sells.
Always glad to hear from people such as yourself purchasing items from over the net I personally feel that Eason is about the best anyone can do purchasing unseen products.

God Bless
