Thanks for the sheet music.  I saved a copy in my computer to print out or use on screen.

Is there a computer program or such , for printing out a blank form of these lines?

How would one get the erhu numbering into it?  lots of custom stuff there like note duration and bowing.  Just wondering if the computer would be of assistance here.

I am not aware of any computer program that can do that.:):D

If you google on jianpu editor, the first link is:

http://www.a1soft.com/smusic/index.htm

It works okay, but is very tedious and limited. I showed my teacher how to use S-Music, but he went back to pen on paper fairly quickly. I think someone on the Zhengyun Qin Guan forum just uses Windows Word with a special font.

I suspect that this is another case where low tech is just fine for most people.

While Wikipedia.org often is derided for inaccuracies, I find the article on jianpu to be very useful. It also lists some software editors.

Best wishes,

David

I looked at a1soft and the editor is very simple.  Too simple.   It doesn't produce very good printed music which is what I was looking for.

So second on the list was Master Composer.  It's Chinese software.   Navigating around their site, I found a download to their older version 2004 and their new version 2008.  If they allow downloads of their software for free, I can't figure out the business model.  Anyways, the link to their download 2008 version is at http://www.zuoqu.com/yinyuezizo.htm
first link is to download, second is the mirror

I installed their 2004 version and my Windows XP says system files were replaced and it wanted to restore.  That sounded bad.  Their program runs but it crashes occationally.  So I uninstalled it.  I would not recommend installing this because of what it does to system files.  So I didn't provide the download link here.

The 2008 version (v6) didn't replace system files so there was no problem there.  It seems to be a bit more improved.  But it still crashed on me. But less often.

Both program are written in Chinese.  And they are not written in unicode which means you have to switch to Chinese PRC codepage to display Chinese correctly.
If you don't all characters are displayed as questionmarks '????'.  If you don't read chinese, you don't need to switch code page since it doesn't matter.  But the program would work just as well.

There are enough toolbars and common keyboard shorts in menus for you to get around (like Ctrl+P in menu signifies print) and the menu under it is obviously print preview.  After a little playing around, you can learn what the button does even if you don't read chinese.  The first dialog that pops up shows 2 buttons.  Clicking left button creates Jianpu notation and the right one shows a western staff.
