Bassist's Black Bow Hair

Description

Bassist's Black Hair is chosen specially from lengths of 33" for its thicker consistent diameter and strength. This hair is naturally black, not dyed. Black hair is consistently recommended by many shops for bass and baroque bows due to its gorgeous natural color and coarse, "grabby" nature.

This is their "special" selection!

Excerpt from the Bow Hair site:

Special Select Bow Hair

Description

We created this product as a result of our frustration with the consistency of high quality horse hair in the world market. Special Select is our Platinum "Live" hair that has been sorted strand by strand by our specially trained craftsmen in China. We are the only bow hair suppliers in North America with their own dressing facility. The response to this hair by the most discerning bow makers and rehairers has been excellent.

Salt & Pepper/Mixed

Description

Our mixed bow hair is more "pepper" than "salt". It is suitable for strong, aggressive players who are looking for extra "bite".

Different hair suited for different style of players! Interesting!:):D

Excerpt from bow hiar site:

Ulaan Wild Bow Hair

Description

Ulaan Wild is a very strong, very clean unbleached horse tail hair from wild horses in Mongolia. We think it is perfectly suited for cello and bass bows, and for any player who likes a very coarse and minimally processed hair. This hair is wrapped in paper.

Fiddler's Bow Hair

Description

Fiddler's hair is a coarser, thicker hair with a fair amount of color drift at one end. This bow hair is perfect for fiddlers, cellists and bassists who like a strong hair with more "bite".

I guess the "Fiddler"..... on the roof, used this kind of bow hair :):D
