 anybody got a fun beginner/intermediate tab for 'tennessee stud'?
got one from mike iverson, but it's just the background chords without any melody.

That's a pretty complete tab. The thing about most clawhammer is that it isn't a direct note-for-note melody of the song.

"Tennessee Stud" is primarily a vocal, and the instrument is best used as an accompaniment. The essential melody notes are there, with the brush-thumbs where appropriate. Doesn't seem to be too difficult for a beginner, just take it slow and work it up. Listen to the MP3 sample he gives, too, concentrating on the banjo, not the words.

(I hadn't been to Mike's site for awhile, thanks for giving me an excuse!)
