Some of the chord bars on my new used OS-15 don't mute properly. For felt rehab, has anyone: 1. Poked the side of the felt repeatedly with a straight pin to fluff it 2. Coated the felt face with Silicone. If so, I would appreciate your opinion/advice. Thanks John

Where string grooves have started to wear through the felt pads, I've fluffed the chord bar felt using the edge of a knife. I have not tried the silicone, but I had a friend who used siliconized caulk. Pure silicone has a tendency to stick and "grab" the strings, and felts coated with it might not let go of the strings properly.
