Whether you're a fiddler looking for tunes and techniques, or a classical violinist interested in trying fiddling, I can help.

I've been teaching for years, and know a lot of excellent tunes in bluegrass, oldtime, Irish, swing, and other styles.  I can show you the best bowing patterns, demystify chords and theory, and help with improvising, variations, harmonies, contests, jam sessions, and playing with a band.

I teach one or two days a month in Lexington, MA, both fiddle and mandolin

I'm co-author of Oldtime Fiddling Across America and other Mel Bay fiddle books, twice Wisconsin state fiddle champion, winner of numerous bluegrass and oldtime fiddle contests in the Northeast.

Dave Reiner
