Greetings all,

I'm just checking in to prove I'm a real person, as per the email instructions. My husband and I play a raft of different musical instruments, focussing on Celtic, Old Time, seashanties, and mandolin-orchestra music. Okay, so we don't really focus...but we do love to play and hear music! TV? What TV?

We buy and sell vintage instruments, so my signature includes the URL for our website.

I'm very excited to have found this forum!:D

Come on in, the music's fine and the bar never closes.

Howdy back to theBlackman.

You should check our website on the "Contact Us" page. You may know my husband. He has played with Skip and the gang at Quinn's, and we've been known to knock back many an adult beverage and rootbeer float there.

For those who may not know of it, Quinn's Lighthouse is at Embarcadero Cove in Oakland, CA. Thursday nights there's a great seashanty sing hosted by Skip Henderson and Starboard Watch. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/skiphendersonandstarboardwatch . They also play at other local venues. They are the real deal, as is Skip.

Skip and I go back to the 60's.  In the late 60's early 70's we used to sing in "Albatross" along with Larry on Bass and Ale on Concertina.

Haven't seen him since the mid 80's at the Balclutha sings.  But one of the "watch" dropped in a month or so ago, James Nelson.

I still have individual tapes of Skip and others as well as the group from the Wine Cellar in the late 60's early to mid 70's and one series from the Shanty Sings at the Maritime park on the Balclutha in the mid 80's.

Glad to see you (figuratively speaking, of course).

I've got "Billy Bones" and a copy of "Starboard Watch".  In the latter my favorite is "Rolling down to Maui".  I also really enjoy Larry's rendition of "A folksinger..." which I just learned and do myself.

I've looked at the site.  Sad to say I don't believe I've met either of you.  But I did look at your "Vintage" guitars.  If you come across a Martin D-18 serial ## 165056 it was stolen from me in th 70's.  It was originally owned by Doug Myers, a folksinger from the late 50's early 60's.

He quit the music scene and opened a cafe in Glen Ellen, in Sonoma in the mid 60's.
