Been listening to some Johnny Cash American Recordings stuff over the last few months, and wondered whether anyone had any links or info to "Desperado" originally by the Eagles?

NB:  Not looking to infringe any copyrights, just wondered if anyone had come across a link at all?

Cash's version is pretty good. But  Linda Ronstradt's is the benchmark in my opinion. A bit over-produced maybe, but very powerful.

I don't think of it as a bluegrass banjo piece. And am not aware of banjo tabs. Perhaps getting sheet music or the melody line, transcribing it into a banjo friendly key might be the way to work out your own version.

Try an internet search. Or try MUDCAT, they have a lot of tabs. This is copywritten material.

Nor me, but that's why I want to give it a go. :P

Why not? If Del McCory (sp?) does a version 1952 Vincent Black Lighting by your Richard Thomas, than a BG versions of Desperado is certainly kosher. I'd be curious how it comes out.

My contra-dance orchestra does a version of Aura Lee as a fast reel. Come to think of it, Greensleeves was a reel, way back when.

So I found some desperado tabs, and left them with my friendly local transposer to work some magic on :)

Whilst  on the hunt, I also found some Uke tabs for Sam Hall (another one of Cash's American Recordings), and they work brilliantly on a 5 string Banjo, so I'm also taking this one on :)
