Hi All,

Well I have been a member here for a little over a month but this is my very first post (I have spent most of my time reading / listening). I had initially found ez-folk just by idle surfing one afternoon  - what a great find (well done Richard et all!).

One of the first things that jumped out at me was the advertisement for the Dulcijo and I must admit to having watched the vids and listened to the MP3s countless times.

Well, at the end of last month I placed my order for a Dulcijo and I collected it from my local post depot on Friday of last week - Its lovely burl variation with a small frailing scoop. I have hardly put it down since I collected it, I love it! I have tried several of the tabs / tunes listed here and I have found the melodies pretty easy (once you work out the fretboard). Adding the Galax (sp?) lick, double thumbing, as Michael recommends isn't too difficult either and gives a nice sound but I am still working on the bumpditty (I have even tried a little drop thumb!). I am sure it will come eventually (my hand wants to do it, its just getting my brain to give the right rhythm thats the problem at the moment!).

I have managed to pick out "bits" of melodies from ear on the Dulcijo but would love to see some more Dulcijo tabs on the site, I especially would like to see cripple creek and Michael's version of Amazing Grace. If anyone can help out I would be obliged.

As for my previous musical experience, I play a little guitar and am making good progress with that again after a decade or so away from it although I do admit to finding it a little difficult at times.

Thanks to all.

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the forums, and glad to hear you're liking the Dulcijo!

I did all of the tabs in the Dulcijo section but I wish I could get Michael Fox to do some since he's the real expert on the Dulcijo. Maybe if he reads this he'll be inspired to create a few tabs in his style, which is a little different than mine.

Right now I'm working on another project (the baritone uke section) so it would be hard to work up more Dulcijo tabs at the moment. Once I'm finished with that though if you still haven't figured out any of the songs you want to learn let me know and I'll see if I can do some tabs on them.

:hat:

Thanks for the response, and also the welcome Richard!

Yeah, if Michael could find the time to get some tabs up here I am sure all Dulcijo players would be greatful. That said, I am using your tabs / tutorials at the moment to help me get the bumditty down and find them very useful and informative - thanks Richard (I am sure they will stand me in good stead when I get myself a 5-string in the future).

Thanks for all your help.
