Help please!

TablEdit Newbie Alert....

I can insert repeats OK, but what about when the last bar(s) of the section are different the 2nd time through - how can I insert the horizontal line over the top with the number 1, then 2 for the different bar(s)?

Also in TablEdit, when I print (either hardcopy or to .pdf) the letters indicating the guitar tuning (e.g. DADGAD) disappear from the guitar stave - is there an option I can select somewhere to prevent this?

(My interest is in creating quality hard copy, not MIDI files.)

Thanks for your replies...

How are you entering the repeats? Are you using the reading list or something else?

I use the reading list to enter the 1st and 2nd endings and that enters the repeats and the horizontal lines you're talking about automatically.

TabCat -

You need to use the reading list without adding those marks in yourself. When you set up the list, it will automatically put the correct markings in the tab, as well as play it correctly.

The reading list is found under the "Play" heading in the menu.

To keep the tuning on the stave, under "Options -> Printing" make sure you have the "Tuning beside Tablature" box checked.

I am using Edit -> Insert -> Endings & Repeats, then selecting as appropriate.

I have not tried the reading list - it seemed to be only concerned with MIDI and playback. Obviously that was a mistake on  my part!

Thanks for the help

TabCat,

Bob Wolford did a really good video tutorial on using TablEdit. I bought it a while back and it was very helpful in learning a lot of things I didn't know. Actually, TablEdit is so powerful that I still only use a small part of what it's capable of doing but if you want to learn a lot about it contact Bob and ask about his TablEdit tutorial. Here's his web address...

http://bobwolford.com/

I didn't see it offered on his site so you might have to ask.

:hat:

Another good idea is to be sure and download the PDF manual from the Tabledit site. It has a nice tutorial, and explains all the features in Tabledit.

The reading list will place the appropriate repeats and endings and other notation you are looking for. Be sure to remove your edited-in changes for things to display properly.

I hadn't known about the video,   but I work best when I can have a printed manual open while learning things.
