Hey Jackie... that's great you'll be there! We've been missing you on ezFolk and at the Cukes (I know it's a looooooong drive). Hope you're bringing the whole family.

I'll be there too as far as I know.

Looking forward to seeing everybody. Hope some of the people that missed the last meeting (Kurt, Pete, etc.) will try to make it.

Yippee!!!  That is sooooooo exciting!!  I'm really looking forward to seeing you, Jackie!  :D

We've moved since you were last here, finally bought a house just a year ago, just two houses over.  Looking forward to having you see it!

Candlewood Suites is really nice if you need a place to stay on Hwy. 54, just around the corner from where we meet.  (we don't have the guest room set up yet, still needs a bed!)

Dear Chris,

I admit to being not very skillful on these web sites.
I saw your reply to me on a page labelled June. I then came to this one, labelled August. I think I replied here once before, but here it goes again.

I will be at the August 12 meeting. I don't think Diane and I will be able to go to dinner, because what does she do for the three hours of ukulele strumming? But that may change, and I'll let you know at least a week before if it does.

MOST IMPORTANTLY. Nowhere on this August page is there a link to any music we're supposed to prepare for the meeting. I've clicked everything, really. Please treat me as the lowest of all illiterates and tell me as exactly as possible what I do get whatever we're supposed to have beforehand.

Thanks for your patience.

Tom Generous

Technology can be difficult, I understand, Tom.  Here's the link and the file names to download as stated in the announcement at the top of this thread:

http://www.brookadams.com/jumping-flea/ukulaneys.html

choose any of the formats he shows there to download each of the files we'll be using, which are:

January '06 TV Themes

Hey Tom,

Maybe Diane would enjoy being a part of the 3 hours of uke strumming. My wife Linda doesn't play but she enjoys coming and meeting the people and singing along, and she especially enjoys eating at Sal's afterwards.

And if they get tired of listening to us play they could always go to the mall and spend a bunch of money then come back in time for Sal's!

Hey Pete,

Looking forward to seeing you at the Cukes! We've been missing you!

It looks like you've been keeping yourself occupied... did you win the Stanley Cup since we last saw you?? What's up with that??

LOL...I wish I could say that I won it!! I just had the good fortune to be able to kiss it and pose for a photo with it. Next best thing to winning it I guess. Lifelong dream fulfilled.

Hope to see you on the 12th.

Pete

HI all,

I'm a new ukulele player, glad to have stumbled upon this group. I bought a tenor Fluke as a Christmas present to myself, and have been slowly practicing on my own, with the wonderful WWW as a source of instruction and songs. So I'd love to join you all on the 12th, if only to see how other people strum this instrument--I'm not sure my technique is all it could be.

I've also managed to infect three of my friends with the ukulele bug; they're all about to get one.

Is anyone driving in from my part of Durham (near Duke) that I can catch a ride with? I don't have a car. Any samaritans can mail me on mikedickison at hotmail.

Oh, and I'd be happy to join folks for dinner too.

Dear Mike,

I'm happy to pick you up for the Aug. 12 meeting.
Please give me directions from 15-501, since I'll
be coming from Chapel Hill.

I wrote here so others would know you have a ride. But please email me <tomgenerous@earthlink.net>

My original plan was not to stay for dinner, but if you want to do so, I'll do it, too, so I can get you home.

Best,
Tom
