I've started a song "Waiting for the bus that never comes" which I had written several verses of but have now lost them all. If anyone would like to come up with a verse, or even re-write the tune please do. I'd love to collaborate with the many talented folks here on my humble beginnings of a song. I've pretty much given up on trying to find the rest of my lyrics, so what do you say?

I've recorded two versions so far, they are on my artist page here:

Oh I seem to have the schedules all mixed up

I'm waitin' on a bus that never comes

I thought it was a good excuse

but now my boss says I'm no use

'cause I'm waitin' on a bus that never comes!

I can't get from point A to point B

I'm waiting for a bus that never comes

perhaps I should ride my bike

but that's not the route I like

so I'm waitin' on a bus that never comes!

The first line of the 3rd verse may feel awkward at first, but if you let the "A" be a qtr note (carry it longer) it works.

You played something like: C  C F G7 C A7 F G7 C

I'm playing: C C G7 C F C A7 Dm7 G7 C

Possible options for finishing it off:
A) Since it keeps repeating the obvious title in the verses, looks like we could be heading for a verse->verse->bridge->verse pop structure, in which case someone needs to write the bridge.

B) Do the classic "blues" turnaround C C7 C6 C+ G7 between verses... and then you have an easy ending too: C C7 C6 C+ C6 C7

I think I like option B.

you've probably long finished this piece but I always found it remarkable how a bus would show up the second anyone lit a smoke. might make a bridge.
