Hi Everyone, In general I admire the new-look EZFolk.com but I am rather confused by what's happened to the charts. If we take genre there used to be separate daily/weekly/monthly/alltime charts. Now there is just "weekly" but the songs listed surely have far too many plays for just one week? So what is the criteria now - the total number of plays? Note that I'm not being critical of EZFolk which provides a unique service for all us folkies. It just seems to me that artists uploading newer songs won't get a look in as far as the charts are concerned which are admitedly just a bit of fun. Stig.

I have to say I tend to agree with Stig. There seems to be little rationale about how the charts are rated and it does make it hard for the guys who are new to this.

I've known about the issues with the charts but have been busy with other stuff. I'm going to take a look and see if there's something I might be able to figure out. I'll post again before the day's over and let you know what I find.

Just a quick update about the chart confusion... When the site was upgraded recently (now 27 days ago) the chart data was corrupted and was basically lost. There was some some miscommunication about getting the backups from before the upgrade reinstalled and it wasn't done. At the time I was busy with other things and just didn't get around to seeing it was done. Anyhoo, all is not lost. All individual artist statistics are intact and are correct. The chart data (daily, weekly, monthly) will correct itself after 30 days so in about 3 or 4 more days mostly all of the charts will be fine. There are still two charts that will be incorrect until the next upgrade of the script, which should be soon. These incorrect charts are:

Thanks Tony, it's good to see the charts in full working order again - and not just because there's a few of my songs popping up here and there! And quite a few of yours, too.
