James-

Nice, I like the melody - kinda ballad/bluesy, and the lyrics flow like so many Celtic songs do!

I added the link below, so others don't have to go hunting for it:

http://ezfolk.com/audio/play.php?band_id=422&song_id=2274&mode=song_lofi

(I put up the lo-fi link, cause I'm still on dialup and appreciate that all can access it, while only the priviledged ones can go to hi-fi! :P ;) )

:2banjo: Keep on pickin'

Thanks Brad, appreciate it man ! i still learnin the computer jargon, i would have put link up for the song if i knew how ? also on Dial-Up here, but hey it's still great. I found that the new system with Umber Alert takes a long time to load pages on dial-up so i stick with this one., still love it !

Slainte Man,

James C

Great tune James ! I'm looking for my next "hit "?(RMS has done so well here.   How about a complete CD , "madog sings the songs of J.C. " :)? But seriously , very nice vibe on this one.

Nice song James!

About the Umber Alert theme, I don't think it really takes any longer to load it normally and it should be faster loading in some instances, such as when an artist has a lot of songs. Instead of loading 50 songs on one page if those are separated by albums (which Umber Alert allows you to do), then the songs will be spread out over several pages.

The photo album pages might take longer to load but they are separate from the other pages and not available in the old theme. If photos are uploaded they should be optimized first, but I'm sure a lot of people don't know how to do this. I'd be glad to help anybody out with optimizing their pics who needs help. It's simple and I optimize every picture that I upload to ezFolk... makes a huge difference in file size and loading time.

You could do a trial of both themes since it's easy to switch between them and see how many seconds each of the pages take to load. I don't have a dial-up connection anymore so I'm kind of oblivious to how long it takes.

One other consideration: It could be that the old theme is cached in your memory and the newer one is not, which means that the old one will appear to load up much more quickly because it's already in the memory. After the new one is in the cache it might be just as fast.

James-

The way I put the link up is as follows:
1) after uploading the tune, I go to the new songs page and find the song.

2) Then I right-click on the LOFI icon and select "Copy link address" (I am using netscape, but it should be similar in other browsers).

3) I then return to the forum, start the new posting and copy the link (Control-C) into the text. If I am adding the HiFi link also, I then copy (^C) again, and then edit the new link to replace "lofi" with "hifi"

4. Then I preview the message to check that the links work properly before actually posting it.

It may not be very eloquent, but it works for me :)

James-

You're welcome. How come yours came out with the button instead of the link, I don't know. What browser are you using; netscape, ie, or another?

Hey Brad, upon further tinkering around with the low-fi and the window that popped up i now realise how to get the link with the letters and #s. I hit  "COPY" for the little button and if i hit Copy Short Cut it comes up with the link, cool bro, thanks :type: Learnin all da time.

I go away to a festival for the weekend and you guys have this place lit up like a Christmas tree when I come back. That's another great one James, more power to your elbow.
We rehearsed Rock My Soul overlooking the sea prior to our Friday night gig, unfotunately we didn't get to play it as we had our "Blues Brothers" moment. We didn't quite get bottled off, but it was a close shave. When I have time I'll post the story. Maybe under a new thread The Gig from Heaven/Hell?
Anyway we did get to play it to an audience that was neither drunk nor deranged later at the festival and it was well received.
The girls seem to like it. I'll also post some snaps of Seamus as he explains the finer points of "party on 'til the broad daylight" to his new fanclub of frolicsome damsels. You born singers have it with jam on.
Slan go foill
Gerry

Dear JC,

I could be too busy suing your man McGandy to bother about the Blair dictatorship.

It’s all your fault !!! :fence1:I might sue you too. “Rock my Soul” did something to the ladies hormones.

Any way love the new song, a hit. Who knows what "The Light Inside Your Eyes" could do for the hormone count at a gig?

Respect,

Seamus:fiddle1::guitar1::uke:

Dear John and JC,

Don’t worry, our performance wasn’t a patch on either of yours. If it had been I would be an expectant father 10 times over!:love10:

A bit of advice, put a health warning on it and I’ll drop all further action in the courts.:fuss:

Yours hopefully,

Seamus

Ps I suggest “Seagulls” carries a similar warning, that’s a mighty dangerous song too.  :fiddle1::guitar1::uke:

WARNING .....

Please be advised that the following songs have been known to cause fluttering in the heart, raging hormones in women, lust wantings and general feelings of euphoria. Men and Women, from Canada to North England and surrounding areas have been stricken with a virus called "Soul Rocking" that causes sudden urges of unexplained vein bulging in men and has a melting effect on women.

Please be forewarned and listen to the following at your own risk:2eyes::love10:

  Rock My Soul Syndrome

 Seagulls Anthidote
