Hi fellow pickers,

I've uploaded a couple of 'new' banjo instrumentals on my site now - 'The Cuckoo' and 'Cumberland Gap'. Both are basically done in three-finger style picking (bluegrass, and then there's some rudimentary hornpipe picking in one part of the Cumberland Gap).

Hope the tunes sound OK.

Petter

Nice work! Super clean. Lots of energy. Enjoyed your Clinch Mountain Backstep too.

I noticed your list of people who impressed. Mostly Americans active in the 40's and 50's. Many of them are my favorites as well. How popular is traditional American music of this rarified and pure strain in Australia?

Hey, thanks for those kind words, Phil! About the popularity of traditional (or traditionally oriented) mountain music in Australia - I have been in Australia since 1998, but I'm born and bred in Norway. My impression is that this kind of music is more popular in Norway than in Australia. I guess you could say that you are more likely to run into people in Norway who know about the Stanley Brothers, Weissberg, Scruggs, Monroe and others than what is the case here in Australia (Adelaide, at least), but this is just my impression. I'm so glad you liked it, thanks Phil!
