After a long hiatus, I got around to doing a little recording on my patio earlier this evening.

I have posted two Clawhammer banjo tunes to my ezFolk music page,

Spotted Pony  A catchy little tune in the key of D

and

Old Jawbone  A Henry Reed fiddle tune that just sort of grabs me.

The links are for the HiFi streams, LoFi streams are available, and you can download either from my music page. OR, you could opt to buy either or  both as WAV files for $0.85 each from my "Vault." Any income derived from sales of my music is earmarked to help offset the costs of the http://www.totmc.org website and/or defray expenses involved in running the monthly meetings (bottled water, paper and ink for tune lists, etc.).

Hope you enjoy the music, as usual, reviews and comments are all welcomed.

Very nice! The rippling water in the background makes you feel you're right on that patio listening. In a discussion on another forum (swedish acoustic guitar forum) a few of us agreed that everything in a recording that connects the music to little sounds of life, someone washing the dishes in the background, squeaks from the instrument et ctera, only livens up a recording. Music is at its best in a live content, and "noisy" recordings is the next best thing. ;)

Back to the subject. Two very nice songs in a very nice recording.

Nice ones!  Spring thaw there?  Here I'd have to keep the faucet running for that effect.

Spring thaw.

Right.

Here in Tucson.

I can live with that!

It's a garden fountain in the back yard.

I like your "new" banjo, also, Lyle. I really want to get a fretless, myself. It looks like I'm gonna have to get busy on my cookietin banjo.

Hello Brad,

Hey, we have a constantly running faucet over here in our backyard, too .... it's called The Sky! :sad3:

I must say, I do like your lovely relaxed style Brad. It's much easier to listen to than the kind of frantic way, in comparison, I play the Old Time tunes I've posted here. Must be my Irish Music background. ;)

Mind you, before you go rushing over to listen to them, I have to say I only play them on my H-D.

I'm afraid I'm not up to posting tunes on my Banjo just yet, for after only six weeks of trying to teach myself, FLAILING IS exactly the right word. :(

Cheers
Dick

Dick -

Glad you found your way back! Seems like we run into each other all over the internet.

I like the HD, and we have even had a couple of players show up at our OT Circles a few times. If you think your banjo-playing isn't worth posting, try listening to a couple of my fiddle postings here (one thing I ain't, is shy with my music).

Thanks for the nice words on my playing.

Brad

unfortunatley I was unable to play Old Jawbone :(  my windows media is not playing on this computer. I am able to play the eZfolk music player though.

I really Love Old spotted pony! Beautiful blend with the Banjo & Fiddle! VERY, VERY NICE!

I am listening to some of your other songs as well and very enjoying the new stuff you have added! Holley :)

Holley—

I'm sorry you can't listen to "Old Jawbone." It has the same settings as "Spotted Pony" and plays fine when I click on it (although I use iTunes).

I don't recall adding fiddle to "Old Jawbone", though, although I want to to add it.

Thanks for the kind words, and I do need to get to your site to listen to your recent adds.

Brad
