Hi all, I'm new here and I've been having problems with one of my tunes. I put two tunes on my artist page, and while one plays fine from the player on my page, the other will only play from my "songs" page, by opening itunes. I don't know if the people visiting my page have the same problem. If you want to check it out, my user name is Emma, and the tune that won't play is called The Nightingale Waltz. I tried deleting it and reloading it, but that didn't change anything. It's an MP3, and it is 2.2 MB, 2 mins 26 seconds long. I use a mac and I've tried with both safari and firefox. I just don't get why one tune is fine and the other isn't. Help would be greatly appreciated! thanks, Emma

Hi Emma, In order for MP3s to play in the Flash player they have to be encoded with a sampling rate of 44 KHz. That's pretty much standard with most programs I think when saving an MP3 so it's usually not an issue. Your tune "Waterfall Waltz" is encoded in stereo at a sampling rate of 44 KHz, so it's fine, but "The Nightingale Waltz" is encoded in mono at a sampling rate of 8 KHz so it won't play in the Flash player but can be loaded and played on your song page. I'm guessing these were recorded at different times using different software. If you still have the original WAV file for "The Nightingale Waltz" you might be able to change the settings on your software or remake the MP3 with the 44 KHz sampling rate. Hope that helps!
