First, as you will note by my posting, I'm a computer idiot! :(

I record with GarageBand then send tunes to iTunes. Sometimes, iTunes hangs and a re-start and re-send is required. I convert songs to mp3 on iTunes to send to ezfolk. I've been able to send songs okay to ezfolk, as far as I can tell. Does anyone know if this causes any problem on the ezfolk and/or listener/downloader end of things? :?

Also, I get strange Disk Insertion warnings saying the disk in the computer was not readable-- there's no disk in the computer! I've wondered whether an ezfolk download encountered an incompatibility with my Safari or iTunes.

Thanks for any answers/help. I love the ezfolk site! Ezfolk and its folk are

A' the best,
Robin Thompson
PS-I'm a computer idiot and am sorry about it! Reminds me of how when we were kids, my brother told one of my cousins, "You're stupid!" My cousin cried so his mother told my brother to apologize. My brother said to my cousin, "I'm sorry you're stupid." :D

Hey Robin,

Did you ever get your iTunes problems worked out? Sorry to say I don't know anything at all about iTunes since I don't use it. A couple of times in the past it has been mentioned in the forums so you could do a search for "itunes" and see what shows up.

Also, in your profile under "My Account" in these forums you can add a signature and most people add their ezFolk URL and any other URLs you want to add such as your own website, MySpace, etc., so people can find your music and listen to it if they're interested.

:hat:

Hi there

I guess you must be using a mac? :)

I use iTunes as a music player, and sometimes to convert aiff to MP3, and I've never encountered any problem with it in that regard. I don't use Garageband, but what I would suggest is that there may be some software incompatibility between the 2 programs - Apple software is very good in lots of ways, but iTunes and the iLife set of programs are notorious for needing to be all at the same software update level to work together (at least according to all the rants I've read on various user forums!) - I'd hit software update and see if there is anything there which brings them all up to date. The same with Safari - or try using Firefox, which I have to do sometimes (though not at EzFolk since I last updated it).

The 'disk' thing sounds weird - maybe it's trying to create a 'disk image' for a download (as in an .img file)? Check out the Apple support section at their website, it might help?

Dan :)

PS - have you tried simply mixing down the file to a folder and then adding to your iTunes playlist, rather than sending it?

Dan,
Yes, I'm on a MacBook and the software was up-to-date. Perhaps there is some incompatability between Garage Band and iTunes. I need to check out that. Could be some kind of download I need to update Garage Band.

Have done some poking around about the strange Disk Insertion messages that pop up randomly, it seems. So far, have had no luck finding a similar case where the causes/fix are applicable to my case.

Still working to get all ship-shape. Many thanks for your reply. Am always glad for any assistance, suggestions of things to try.

A' the best,
Robin
