I need some song ideas for a new station to replace the Christmas music that's been playing on the main page for the past month.

I would like to feature some of the very best music on ezFolk in this station so people visiting the site will like what they hear.

Honestly, I haven't listened to the almost 8,000 songs on ezFolk so I'm sure plenty of good ones have escaped me, so let me know what you think is good. There won't be any voting this time around (sorry... that doesn't seem to work too well).

I need particular songs (not artists) for this station so post links to any songs here that you think should be included and I'll listen to them and consider them.

Songs will be added or deleted from this station as time goes along so things will keep changing.

Any ideas? All of your input is appreciated!

Richard -
You should never ask that, because it's such a hard decision!!

These are just a few that I have thought of off the top of my head, but there are many more :).

Chris Pearline
On the Grass
http://ezfolk.com/audio/play.php?mode=song_hifi&band_id=934&song_id=4000

Christopher Martin Hansen
Little Habanero
http://ezfolk.com/audio/play.php?mode=song_hifi&band_id=691&song_id=2682

Bruce Holmes
Angels
http://ezfolk.com/audio/play.php?mode=song_hifi&band_id=765&song_id=3041

Tony Provencher
Old Time Religion
http://ezfolk.com/audio/play.php?mode=song_hifi&band_id=895&song_id=4019

Holley Hall
Coyote
http://ezfolk.com/audio/play.php?mode=song_hifi&band_id=804&song_id=5678

And even picking just one from these artists was hard!

As I can I'll come back with more, but you might get tired of hearing from me :D

Amy

Hi, Richard, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It seems that you already have many of my favourite songs and artists up on your 'Best of...' station, but I do have a few more suggestions.  My top ten -- in no particular order:

Morning Quiet
Amy Dixon-Kolar

J'ALLUMERAI MA CHEMINEE
Chris Pearline

Barbagal
Il Fojonco

Gospel Train
IVY Creek

Bid Adieu, Gwendolyn
Strayer and Campbell

Foggy Mental Breakdown
Michael Fox

n'Widjiiwaagan
Heath Patrie

Misty
jeff matz

Soda Pop Bop
ITCHIECAT

Cappy John's Bride
Castlebay

There are so many great artists with so many great songs on ezFolk that it's awfully hard to choose.  If I had it to do again I could come up easily with another ten of equal merit.  Dusty and Lyle come to mind.  If you're looking for more I can easily do it again without repeating myself!

Thanks for the recommendations we've gotten so far. I've added quite a few of them along with others and there are now a total of 83 songs on the station.

This is an open-ended invitation to tell me the songs you think should be on the station. I'll be adding more and probably removing some and replacing them with other songs occasionally as well.

This is the featured station on the front page and since it showcases some of the best music on ezFolk I'll keep it on the front page for the foreseeable future. I've noticed that the songs that have been added so far are getting quite a few plays so it seems like a good way to gain more listeners for the site. As visitors hear some of what's available they're more likely to go in and find more music they like.

I won't promise to add every song mentioned to the station but I'll listen to all of them at least and consider them all. If I don't add them now I might add them somewhere down the road.

Keep 'em comin'!
