Over the next two weeks we are featuring songs from the CHRISTMAS genre of ezFolk on the main page...

http://ezfolk.com

We welcome you to upload any Christmas MP3s you would like to share with ezFolk listeners. In addition to being featured at the top of the main page the music will also be featured on about 20 subpages as well so these songs should get a lot of exposure during that time. Be sure to include a photo as well as the photo associated with each song will be shown and a link will be included to each artist's page as their song is playing.

Each time the page is loaded a new playlist is randomly generated that includes 50 songs from the Christmas genre, so be sure that your song is in the CHRISTMAS genre so it will be included.

Thanks for the Email with this request. I have uploaded the entire "Christmas Memories" CD to the site. This was recorded last year as a gift to our families; the response was so positive that I have released it to the general public.

The entire disc is available for listening; in fairness to the retailers who have agreed to carry this, I am charging the minimum price for downloads.

Let me take this opportunity to offer best wishes no matter what holiday you might celebrate, and a very happy new year to all. And special thanks again to our host, Richard Hefner!!!:2santabig:

Hey Gary,

Thanks for sharing your whole Christmas CD with us. Good to see you taking a break from the classical world. Hope you and Carol have a great Christmas!

Richard

Do the usual rules apply? Songs must be in the public domain, etc.

I have a great version of a song I'm not sure about that I'd love to add to the list.

Thanks!

I think I may be out of luck if the usual rules apply...and I assume they do...I've located the song info and I know it's not in the public domain!

Hi Danny,

Yeah, we really need to go by the rules so things don't get out of hand. Sorry about that.

So what's the song anyway?

Christ was Born in Bethlehem by Tim Obrien

I recorded a version I'm using in an audio Christmas card I'm making for family and friends this year.

Guitar, banjo, accordion.

Hope you have a great holiday, Richard! Thanks for all your work here at EZFolk...

I'm trying to determine whether this song is copyrighted by Tim Obrien (i.e. he WROTE it), or whether simply his performance of the song is copyrighted.

Danny... It's public domain... go for it.

The Tim O'Brien version is listed on Mollie O'Brien's site as an arrangement of a traditional tune.

Looking forward to hearing yours!
