Probably the best video format to use on ezFolk now is FLV (flash video). One of the best things about it is that you don't have to wait at all for the videos to play -- they pretty much start up as soon as you hit the play button.

If you've been wondering why nothing shows up in the video player at the top of your video page, it's because it only works with FLV files, so it doesn't see video files such as WMV or MPG.

I converted most of my own videos to the FLV format today and uploaded them, and you can see them on my video page...

There's also a cool looking video player built in to the system that plays these flash videos when they're listed on other pages (besides your video section). Take a look at some of the FLV videos I uploaded that are listed in the newest videos...

Also, you can deep link to your flash videos with this video player also, like this...

If you need a program to convert your videos I used a program called "Total Video Converter." Here's their web address...

http://www.effectmatrix.com

You can download a free 15-day trial, which works fine but does create a watermark on your video when it converts it. The software worked so well I bought after just trying it for a few minutes though. Just takes a minute to convert the files.

Good program.  I am using the converter trial.  I may just spring for the access code.

Thanks.  Most of the stuff my friends are recording are in the new MP4 format, which nobody accepts, yet.

Dusty

By the way.  Is there anyway to get the playback picture/screen larger than 2.5 inches square?

I'm not sure about the screen size. Seems like it changes depending on where it's being played, and on the video page it always shows up in that small box.

It plays in a bigger window though if you copy the shortcut from the new video listings page... see?...

Thanks.  I'll remember that.
