Okay you guys who are interested in the history of songs. Hope you'll share your findings and maybe we can all learn something. I'm hoping to keep all of these forum discussions intact, so maybe over time we can create a great resource for people looking for this type of info.

:hat:

Sounds like a good idea, Richard. I just may have to brush off my old "Talkin' Ortega Dining Commons Blues" that I wrote at college in the 60's and post it and it's history.
Now, where did I put that geetar? :huh2:

Brad... That sounds like a good one to get the ball rolling. We don't have any rules as far as the age of our folk song histories, so they can be really old traditional songs or newer original folk songs. I've got a few original ones I might share the stories on over time and hope others will as well. Maybe people would consider adding an MP3, lyrics, and chords or tab as well as the history.

This could even lead to a separate songwriting forum if there's any interest in it. I've always wanted to write songs and have written quite a few but will go sometimes for years before I take the time to do it. If anybody's interested in a forum where we could share songwriting ideas let me know.

I've gotta say that this a terrific idea.  I haven't seen or heard of anything quite like this anywhere on the world wide web.  I'm really anxious to see what come of it!  It should be a wonderful resource for learning and/or inspiration!  Thanks a ton Richard!

Oh, yeah -

If you share a history, you need to share the song, or at least a link!
