Greetings All, I am trying to locate the lyrics to the ballad “Paddy Ryan’s Victory” which purportedly chronicles the infamous eighty-six round bout Paddy had with Joe Goss in West Virginia in 1880. In Howard W. Thompson’s book entitled “Body, Boots, and Britches” this ballad is referred to and two purported versus are included. I am hopeful someone here has either uncovered the lyrics to this ballad or in the very least can offer some other leads as to where I might turn them up. In speaking to some of the Western New York song collectors and singers, unfortunately none of who have been successful in their quest for the same, I am under the impression that there is a verse for each round of the fight. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Peace, Ed
