Hi,
Just wanted to show off my new banjo. I had been playing with an Asian starter Banjo, the Vintage VOB12 which whilst perfectly ok would probably need upgrading at some point later down the line. I was presented with the opportunity of upgrading on Sunday to a Grafton Clipper (constructed by Andy Perkins).  It is an all maple banjo with a brass tone ring, vintage style planetary tuners and a geared 5th string peg, armrest and a "No-Knot" tailpiece.

It is billed as "the best entry-level/intermediate banjo available in the UK at the moment - for sound, playability and stability, nothing else in this price bracket comes close ...."

It's far heavier than the VOB12, is louder and sounds SWWWWEEEEETTT!

Thanks,

Mark

Nice looking banjo, Mark!  Congratulations!

I have one of Andy's uke banjos - a Grafton - and love it.  He has some nice banjos.  I have bought a few banjos from him and have really been pleased with his sales and service.

Any sound files of this new banjo to listen to?  ;)

Jody

Thanks Jody,

I like it a lot and have been very pleased with it compared to the "Vintage".

I wish I did have a sound file but as yet have no way of recording (add that to my limited ability with the instrument!)

Thanks,

Mark

PS - I love that Lee of yours, gonna save up and make the trip over to his workshop there one day (my brother in law lives in Texas so we have an excuse to be in the area!). Hopefully I will come home with something special :)
