Picked up a Kala KA-SSLN today (locally) for $140 out the door (seen them online for on sale for around $125 + shipping). Small soprano body and 17" tenor scale neck. This one has absolutely perfect intonation, and flawless fretwork IMO. Solid spruce top, and lam mahogany body. Really plays nice. Low action, no buzzes anywhere, very good tone for a lam body, and the neck feels great! Not too thin, not too thick.
It's a new companion for my Lehua longneck (15 1/2" concert scale, in my avatar) which is about the only uke I play these days, of the few I own. I just love a long neck on a soprano body. BTW, it's not neck-heavy at all, like an Ohana tenor neck soprano I played last year. Just really comfy to play, like the Lehua.
Has GHS strings, but I have a set of Aquila concert strings that are long enough, and I may put those on soon.
