Thanks. Interesting, but not something I would be interested in personally.

Glad you shared your preference Bill. So, is this a first post shameless self promoted selling one? Or are you interested in being part of the community? Probably the first.

I'd love to do a bit a shameless self promoting of my string instrument restorations, not to sell them (I only do local walk-in business) but only to show what I do (well, OK, show off). Sadly, I still haven't figured out how to post pics online and my dear wife hasn't made me a web page yet. I've fixed some polyurethane finishes (why do some people clip their guitar strings so they stab and scrape players and other instruments? That's my rant for the day...), but of course I like old hand rubbed finishes best. I've just restored the original patina on an old Kay archtop, and its something of unworldly beauty to me.... I've seen some, well, not cheaply priced instruments with polyurethane finishes. Such a shame I think. I've just bought a Korean Hofner archtop that I'm sorely tempted to strip down and apply a proper finish to. I won't though. I've got too many old beauties waiting for my attention as is. There's my own shameless self-promotion. I really do want to post a bit sometime,,,, edit: My used Hofner is actually supposed to have a laquer finish. I haven't received it yet and am hoping the finish will be nice. But I've got a Korean Epi Casino that I'd really like to do a job on...
