wondered how 6-string players felt about their ukuleles? Once you start playing one, does it become your main player? Or is it just something a little different and fun to pull out every now and then?

I found the 6 string and the 8 string to be occasional ukes. And I have them no more. Your mileage may vary from mine though. That depends upon the performer. I have an 8-string uke amongst a collection of mostly 4-string ukes of all sizes. Here in Chicago, Lopaka Young, a professional Hawaiian singer, performs mostly with his 6-string baritone.
