we are at out whits end trying to get a spedific age and get a rough value on this amazing instrument.

It is near mint condition, with only a few strum swirls above the sound hole, still with original case and price tag that calls it a 51-T?

It is mahogany, a 14 fret neck, tortise shell binding back and front.  Friction tuners.  On the inside it has the "tell-tale" Made In USA in the brand.

We are picking it's from the 60's, are we right . . . if so what is the rough value of it for insurance and / or possible sale?

I have some great photos of it.

many many thanks in advance

glenn

Here's a $1,300 listing for a Martin 1T tenor uke from the 1960's:

Martin tenors go all over the place, 51 usually signifies baritone(?), but the T would mean tenor. A good way to tell is the tuners, and a better pic ;) but you're looking at over a grand, if it's minty, closer to 1500. Probably 50/60's, but some more detailed photos would be nice.

The thing about the tenors, they usually fall into the same pricing no matter the age, it's the condition and if it's 12 or 14 frets to the body. If it's 14 it's probably 60's.

There are more knowledgeable folk here, the topic should bring them out.
